Although my family and i have been to this area to ride motorcycles and 4X4's
I have never flown it....Should make a wonderful PPC.Ultralight field...11 mile long
SUPER flat runway...kind of like the salt flats..without the salt...though it can be dusty!

Here is a link to the area(Wikipedia)

Alvord desert

Tom....you have any Alvord PIX you can upload or any Youtube stuff from there?

Yep...the Alvord is one of my favorite places to visit Breath taking scenery that most people don't even know exist, even if they happen to live in Oregon.

Here's a link to my ride report from last years dirt bike trip, I'll start out on page 4 where the Alvord pictures start and you can go forward or back from there. Can't wait to get down that way again!

Link to my ride report: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=503392&page=4&highlight=hodakaguy

and a few teaser pics

Lots more in the ride report.

Check out this great video of the Alvord Desert. This was put together by one of the guys over at BendDualSport, they just returned from a dirt bike trip at the Alvord. This video is Very well done! The music selection was perfect as well.
